The pilot operated valve is a two position, three-way normally open, Pilot Supply pressure operated high flow
control valve assembly. It is designed to block or isolate the Supply port automatically with each application of relatively low Pilot Supply pressure, a Valve to Exhaust flow path will then be established.

A loss of operating Pilot Supply will re-establish the Normally Open flow path between the Supply (inlet) port and Valve(outlet) ports. The Exhaust port will once again become isolated or blocked to internal flow, as a return to the shelf status occurs. The pilot operated valve is most frequently used in severe service applications or control circuits that require higher flow than normal.
